Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Location: Sevenoaks, Kent Setting: SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) School Contract: Full-time / Term-time only, Temporary to perm Start date: As soon as possible
We are looking to appoint a dedicated and resilient Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a specialist SEMH school in the Sevenoaks area. This role is ideal for a HLTA who is passionate about supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health needs and making a meaningful difference to their lives.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver learning activities to individuals, small groups, and whole classes under teacher direction as a HLTA Provide consistent, nurturing support to pupils with SEMH needs Support behaviour regulation and emotional development using positive behaviour strategies Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals Promote a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment Contribute to pupil progress, wellbeing, and positive outcomesThe Successful Candidate Will:
Hold HLTA status or have significant relevant experience Have experience working with pupils with SEMH, SEND, or challenging behaviour Be calm, patient, and emotionally resilient Demonstrate strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills Be flexible, proactive, and committed to safeguarding and inclusionWhy Work with Term Time Teachers
