This exciting new role of Highways Continuous Improvement Manager is focused on supporting and guiding multi-disciplinary teams to ensure Staffordshire's highway infrastructure and services support the creation of vibrant, safe, and sustainable communities.

In this role you will be instrumental in translating learning from recent Highways Transformation into the development of a refreshed programme of work and building in continuous improvement across the service. Working within Highways Business Support & Improvement you will work collaboratively aligning highway service delivery to contribute to economic growth, sustainability, and resilience.

You will be based in Stafford with the ability to work flexibly. This role is fixed term until December 2027.

You’ll play a pivotal part in supporting continuous improvement across Highways & the Built County Service. Working closely with senior colleagues, you’ll manage projects, working on cross cutting themes, and ensure we deliver efficient, high-quality services. This role offers the opportunity to shape future services, embed new practices, and deliver meaningful outcomes for our residents.

you will also:

• Support the scoping and implementation of new strategic priorities across the Highways services
• Lead on project management, working in collaboration with colleagues across the service utilising the full project cycle
• Lead on projects reviewing; governance monitoring, efficiency, value for money, health and safety and county assets
• Support the creation of strategies and policies to ensure services are resilient and efficient
• Lead workshops that engage cross cutting services, collating data and cross cutting themes to drive decision making for future plans and models
• Create a data analysis process to determine monitoring of services, progress on projects and contract monitoring

You'll have:

• A degree or relevant experience in a related field.
• Effective analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach and the ability to identify issue and develop innovative solutions.

• Ability to work in a complex environment and network across organizational boundaries; influencing and negotiating with others to ensure that deadlines are met.

• Effective interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders including service users and able to work as part of a team.
• Time management skills with the flexibility to meet tight deadlines and adapt to changing workload demands.
• Effective written and oral communication skills including the ability to prepare and present reports and to communicate with staff/ at all levels.
• Effective planning and project management skills.
• Ability to communicate and build a culture that delivers change with people, and solutions in mind.
