Highways Installation Engineer
Reporting to the Regional Manager (South), the successful Highways Installation engineer will be responsible for the installation, testing, and maintenance of a range of highways technologies and associated equipment. This includes CCTV systems, SOS roadside telephones, loop detection systems, weather monitoring stations, traffic signals, and power cable repairs.
This role covers a geographical area from Peterborough to Folkestone, including regions south of the M25. Ideally, candidates will be based near Luton; however, applications are welcomed from those located within the wider coverage area.
Flexibility is essential, as the majority of work is carried out during the night (Monday to Thursday) to allow for safe road closures and minimise disruption.
What you'll do:
Undertaking of works relating to all types of National Highways equipment: CCTV, SOS roadside telephones, loop detection equipment, weather stations, traffic signals and power cable repairs. Maintain high levels of quality for all works Ensure all work is performed to the highest quality and following the relevant standards. Work in a safe manner in full compliance with the health and safety documentation produced for the task. Perform the installation and test of all specified operational equipment found within the designated work environment. Who you are:
This role would suite someone with installation experience already on the National Highways (NH) network or if you have some electrical, electronics or telecoms experience, who are willing to learn, like driving and are flexible. Flexibility is key in this role due to the area that will be covered.
Highways Installation Engineer Key Requirements:
Have previous experience working as a Highways Installation Engineer or previous electrical experience Flexibility to work Nights Monday to Thursday to ensure safety and roads can be closed. Previous experience of installation and testing CCTV, SOS roadside telephones, loop detection equipment, weather stations, traffic signals and power cable repairs Full UK Driving Licence What we offer:
