Highway Maintenance Supervisor MGroup Highways is currently looking to recruit a Highways Maintenance Supervisor to work on our Oxfordshire contract in our Drayton Depot at Milton Rd OX 14 4EZ . As a Highways Maintenance Supervisor, you will be part of our team responsible for maintaining the road network in Oxfordshire. The Oxfordshire Highways Contract is a term maintenance contract for Oxfordshire County Council. As a Highway Maintenance Supervisor your duties & responsibilities will be:
Deliver all works in a manner which meets or better your targets, whilst undertaking these activities in a safe manner and to the required specification. Supervision of both in-house and subcontracted works. You will programme your works to be delivered as per instruction from our Client/Manager. Be flexible to work across other depots and support other supervisors, to ensure a consistently high level of delivery across the contract.Your key responsibilities within this will include the following:
Undertake pre-works reviews to ensure buildability Continual focus on operational gross margins of all work that you are delivering, from the pre-works planning stage, to on-site supervision. Working with our commercial team, establish estimates based on an agreed schedule of rates Establish a target scheme programme and monitor your works, review and hot cost progress. Monitor all works activities to ensure the programme remains on track, of the right quality and is being delivered in a safe manner. You'll also match resource needs to ensure the programme delivers on time and budget and provide regular updates on ASTA (programmes) and Causeway (costing) or any other specific systems. Line-manage the gangs daily, setting work targets, undertaking regular developmental reviews, and dealing with all issues that may arise with support from the Area Manager. deliver tool-box-talks and any safety briefing's as they arise. Deliver communication plan as agreed in annual improvement imitative.' Proactively, communicate, and support with our behavioural safety programme - "It Starts With Me" Assist with the delivery of our winter maintenance and out-of-hours operations Skills & Knowledge Requirements
A good level of experience in construction delivery and workforce supervision. Commercially driven to be able to capture working cost efficiencies, cost control and saving money wherever possible for the mutual benefit of the client and MGroup. Experience within the highway maintenance industry would be desirable, along with CSCS, NRSWA and SSSTS. Effective team management, leadership, motivational and influencing skills to get the best from everyone. Excellent customer skills and the ability to demonstrate influencing in all situations. Good general IT skills are essential. Ideally proficient in MS Excel, and any other specific systems. The ability to remain flexible in your approach to the role whilst embracing change and helping to drive that change through the wider teams and through into the delivery. To ensure you're successful in the role, you'll need to be able to demonstrate the following qualities and attributes:
Good leadership and team management with your immediate teams and across the wider business. Excellent communication skills - verbal, and ideally written, report writing and presentation - to ensure clarity in all situations and to effectively influence client decision making. People management skills having managed teams - covering all areas such as recruitment, PDRs, coaching and mentoring. Highly organised and able to juggle and prioritise, whilst multi-tasking for many stakeholders, and still remaining focused on what's most important and ultimately on delivery
