The role requires a positive working relationship with the client, the contract team, the widerMGroupteam, the supply chain and all other stakeholders. Specific focus on operational delivery across the depots to ensure all resources are utilised efficiently and effectively to maximise productivity outputsThe role is primarily based outdoors across the Devon Highways contract area and will involve working in all weather conditions. The standard working week is 40 hours. Occasional travel between depots may be required, along with night-time or weekend working to meet operational needs.What youll be doing Daily control of all on site activities and enforcement ofMGroup Highways MIMS, policy and procedure.Utilisation of resources to ensure that the gangs remain fully productive with associated challenge and support where necessaryManage and supervise schemes on-site to ensure that work is carried out safely, in accordance with the HSEQ standards required byMGroup Highways.Efficient organisation and utilisation of labour, materials, equipment and subcontractor resources.Ensure Construction Phase Plans, method statements and safe systems of work are in-place and briefed before work is started and that required safety standards are always maintained.Ensure in-house and subcontractors site personnel are competent, Inducted and fully trained to undertake their work.Work closely with commercial team and designers to manage change or delays encountered on site.Keep accurate records including site diary, records of works activities, resource allocations and as-built information.Assist in preparation of health and safety files and post completion reportsSupport the Area Manager to develop construction programmes and methodology utilising existing knowledge & experienceAssist with Early Contractor Involvement advice and design for buildability considerations including CDM & Traffic Management incorporating TTRO applications and road space bookings.What youll bring Extensive experience of supervising highway maintenance and improvement worksKnowledge of works specifications to national standardsDetailed understanding of health and safety management and the requirements of CDMDetailed knowledge of quality and environmental standards for highway improvement workExtensive experience of managing and supervising staff, workforce and subcontractorsGood communication skillsExtensive understanding of MGroups procurement process, both material and subcontract NVQ Highway maintenance/construction IOSH/ SMSTS preferableCSCS / CPCSTSCO (only applicable where managing 12 A/B works)Driving licenceIt Starts With Me AmbassadorWhats in it for you?We offer a range of benefits designed to support your life in and out of work, some of which include;Matched or contributory pension schemeLife assuranceIncremental holiday scheme starts at 22 days annual leave plus bank holidaysCompany VanAbout usWe want to be an employer of choice and a great place to work, attracting diverse and talented people, who join us and make a difference.
