Hire Desk Controller Hours: Monday to Friday Salary: £26,000 – £31,000 per annum (DOE) My Client is a leading plant hire company supplying high-quality machinery and equipment to the construction, infrastructure, and industrial sectors. We're on the lookout for a Hire Desk Controller to join a fast-paced, industry-leading business at the heart of the plant and equipment hire sector. If you're looking for a role where no two days are the same, this could be your perfect next move. What You’ll Be Doing:
Manage incoming hire enquiries via phone and email. Prepare and process hire quotations, contracts, and off-hire documentation. Coordinate equipment availability and allocate plant to meet customer requirements. Liaise with transport to arrange timely delivery and collection of equipment. Monitor ongoing hires and ensure accurate billing. Maintain up-to-date records on the hire management system. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers. Act as the first point of contact for breakdown reports. Log and prioritise breakdowns efficiently. Coordinate field engineers and workshop staff for rapid response. Order parts where required and track repair progress. Keep customers informed of repair status and estimated resolution times. Ensure all breakdowns and repairs are recorded accurately. Monitor recurring faults and escalate ongoing issues.What We’re Looking For:
