Are you an experienced and confident HLTA with a passion for supporting students with special educational needs? A specialist secondary SEN school in the Crowborough area is seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This is a part-time role, working three days a week, primarily covering PPA.
The Role:
* Deliver pre-planned lessons to small groups or whole classes during PPA cover.
* Support students with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH.
* Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to ensure consistency and progress.
* Promote a safe and engaging learning environment.
* Provide ongoing feedback and classroom observations as required.
Requirements:
* HLTA qualification or equivalent experience in a similar role.
* Experience working in a special needs or alternative provision setting (desirable).
* Confident delivering lessons independently with excellent behaviour management.
* Strong communication skills and a compassionate, adaptable approach.
* A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
