Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Secondary Schools\n\nLocation: Croydon\n Contract: Full-time, 5 days per week\n\nWe are seeking a passionate and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work across a range of inclusive and supportive secondary schools in Croydon. This is an excellent opportunity for a committed professional who is eager to make a meaningful impact on students' learning and development while progressing their career in education.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs an HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school, working closely with teachers, SEN staff, and senior leaders. Responsibilities may include:\n\nDelivering pre-planned lessons and covering classes when required\n\nSupporting pupils across KS3 and KS4, including those with SEND\n\nLeading small group interventions to raise attainment and confidence\n\nContributing to a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment\n\nSupporting behaviour management and pastoral care in line with school policies\n\nAbout the Schools\n\nInclusive, welcoming, and supportive secondary school environments\n\nStrong focus on staff wellbeing and professional development\n\nClear pathways for career progression and further training\n\nCollaborative teams that value dedication, initiative, and growth\n\nThe Ideal Candidate\n\nHolds HLTA status or equivalent experience\n\nHas experience working within secondary school settings\n\nIs confident leading classes and supporting diverse learners\n\nDemonstrates strong communication, organisation, and adaptability\n\nIs committed to inclusion, safeguarding, and student success\n\nWhat's On Offer\n\nFull-time, stable role (5 days per week)\n\nOpportunities to work across a variety of secondary schools in Croydon\n\nOngoing professional development and progression opportunities\n\nSupportive leadership and a positive working culture
