Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Pay Range: £110 – £140 per day (dependent on experience)

ANZUK Education is working with a supportive and forward-thinking primary school in Southwark seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team from an immediate start. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work across year groups and occasionally cover classes, supporting the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning.

The school is known for its collaborative approach and clear behaviour systems, creating a positive environment where support staff can confidently step into teaching responsibilities when required.

This HLTA role in Southwark would suit experienced Teaching Assistants or qualified HLTAs who are confident delivering lessons and managing a classroom independently.

Key Responsibilities of HLTA:

Support teaching and learning across the primary phase.

Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher.

Provide targeted support to individuals and small groups.

Maintain high expectations for pupil progress, behaviour and engagement.

Support pupils’ social, emotional and personal development.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

Hold a HLTA qualification or equivalent experience (essential).

Have experience working within a primary school setting.

Be confident leading whole-class learning when required.

Demonstrate strong understanding of the National Curriculum.

Maintain high expectations for pupil progress and behaviour.

Show a clear commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
