The business designs and manufactures specialist heavy industrial equipment supplied globally and has built a strong reputation for quality, innovation and long-term staff retention.Due to continued growth, they are looking to add an experiencedHorizontal Borer Machine Operatorto their machine & fabrication workshop.The Role:This position will focus on the setup and operation of conventional (manual) horizontal boring machines within a busy engineering workshop environment.This is a hands-on machining role working to tight tolerances and high-quality standards.Main duties include:Setting and operating a conventional horizontal boring machineOperating other manual machine tools including lathes, milling machines and drillsWorking from detailed engineering drawingsProducing precision components to tight tolerancesInspecting and measuring your own workMaintaining high housekeeping and safety standardsContributing to continuous improvement within the workshopRequirements:To be considered, you must have:Previous experience operatingmanual / conventionalmachine toolsAbility to read and interpret detailed engineering drawingsExperience working to tight tolerancesStrong understanding of safe working practices in a machine shopDesirable (but not essential):Experience operating a Kerns Richard SH75 or similar horizontal borerOverhead crane experienceCounterbalance forklift licence?? This role is focused on conventional/manual machining.
