The Role We are seeking a reliable and flexible General Hospitality Assistant to support our hospitality operations across housekeeping, the tearoom, and events. This is a varied, hands-on role ideal for individuals who enjoy working with people and being part of a supportive team. The position is casual and hours are offered on an as-and-when-required basis. Shifts will include weekends and bank holidays. Main Responsibilities but not limited to:- Housekeeping * Cleaning guest bedrooms and bathrooms to a high standard * Cleaning public areas across the Abbey site * Undertaking deep cleaning tasks as required Tearoom * Serving hot drinks and food to guests * Preparing drinks and light refreshments * Clearing and cleaning tables * Providing friendly and efficient customer service Events & Functions * Assisting with the service of lunches and dinners * Supporting guests attending events, retreats, and functions * Helping with room setup and clear-down * Directing guest parking and offering general assistance Skills and Attributes You will be: * Friendly, approachable, and professional * Reliable and flexible with availability * Comfortable working as part of a team * Able to work independently when required Essential Requirements * Own transport is essential due to the Abbey’s remote location * Willingness to work weekends and holidays * Ability to undertake physical tasks such as cleaning and standing for periods Ampleforth Abbey Trust is committed to the highest standards of safeguarding.
