The opportunity has arisen within West Lothian Council, Housing, Customer & Building Services for a self-motivated and enthusiastic Housing Assistant to join our team to deliver a high-quality housing management service.  This is an excellent opportunity to join our team following recent organisational changes. Successful applicant will be expected to: -



Provide comprehensive housing advice by proactively working with tenants and new customers on housing solutions through the personal housing planning approach


Proactively work in your team and with others in HCBS/Council to deliver high standard of service delivery to meet tenant needs, aspirations and achieve sustainable tenancies and communities


Ensure that the council’s policies and procedures are implemented to the required standards




Have highly developed communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.


Ability to record and report information accurately and concisely both verbally and in writing.


Work effectively under pressure with the ability to prioritise own workload and have a good knowledge of various IT packages.

This post is subject to the Council’s flexible working policies and the role is operated on a hybrid basis.


The post is subject to the Council’s Green Travel working policies and the role will have access to Pool Car to undertake business related travel. xbpsjku


This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
