The Role:

We are seeking Housing Litigation Solicitors to join a growing and dynamic team. The successful candidates will manage a varied caseload of housing matters, provide technical support where required, and contribute to the continued development of the department.

This role offers the opportunity to work on complex and high-quality housing litigation matters, including advocacy, while supporting junior team members and maintaining high standards of client care.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Report directly to the Department Director
  • Manage a diverse caseload of public and private housing matters, including:
  • Homelessness applications and appeals
  • Disrepair claims
  • Eviction and possession proceedings
  • Property ownership disputes
  • Unlawful eviction cases
  • Succession rights
  • Neighbourhood and anti-social behaviour issues
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior team members where appropriate
  • Conduct advocacy where required and attend court hearings
  • Take client instructions, prepare cases, and manage correspondence
  • Maintain accurate time recording and billing procedures
  • Ensure compliance with file management and internal processes
  • Implement recommendations following file reviews promptly
  • Support business development and contribute to the firm’s growth


Candidate Requirements:

  • UK qualified solicitor with a valid practising certificate
  • Strong experience in housing litigation (PQE guideline flexible depending on experience)
  • Proven supervisory and team management experience
  • Experience working to KPIs and managing performance
  • Strong knowledge of publicly funded housing work (legal help and representation), with the ability to handle privately funded matters
  • Experience across a broad range of housing disputes
  • Advocacy experience is advantageous
  • Excellent client care skills, particularly when working with vulnerable clients
  • Strong organisational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgment
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to contribute to business development
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and case management systems
