Job Title: Housing Support & Inspection Officer Hours: 36 per week About the Role We are looking for a proactive Housing Support & Inspection Officer to be the face of our housing service, delivering outstanding support to residents and embedding a culture of putting residents first. You will carry out home visits to residents in temporary accommodation, and to those applying as homeless, across council, housing association, and privately rented homes. Key Responsibilities Lead on completing home visits to gather accurate data that shapes housing services and identifies high-needs groups. Carry out dynamic risk assessments of residents' homes, identifying health and safety concerns such as combustible items or evacuation risks. Assess whether accommodation is occupied and suitable under relevant legislation. Identify disrepair or poor property conditions, refer to relevant services, and ensure follow-up support. Report repairs and provide realistic timeframes to help prevent homelessness. Detect and refer suspected housing fraud or breaches of tenancy to the Housing Investigation Team.
