Location: Aylesbury (3 days in the office, 2 days from home) Salary: £60,000 per annum The Opportunity An established transport organisation is seeking an experienced HSSE Manager - Engineering to join their Health, Safety, Security and Environment function. This is a critical role providing expert HSSE business partner support to the Engineering function, ensuring the safe operation of maintenance and engineering activities across the network during a busy transformation period. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to influence safety standards, drive compliance, and deliver key initiatives aligned with the company's annual HSSE plan. Key Responsibilities Provide HSSE leadership and support within the Engineering function, acting as the key business partner for managers and teams Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety standards, procedures, and risk assessments Monitor incident trends and support investigations to ensure lessons are embedded Lead and deliver risk-based HSSE audits and compliance reviews Oversee accreditation and management system compliance (ISO/PAS99) Support safety validation and change management for engineering projects Engage effectively with unions and internal stakeholders to support HSSE initiatives Represent the organisation externally with regulators, industry bodies, and peer operators Lead specific HSSE projects and initiatives, deputising for senior leadership as required Candidate Profile NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent) in Occupational xehkeey Safety and Health Knowledge of health & safety legislation and its application to engineering operations Ability to influence and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels Competence in IT applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint Personal Track Safety (PTS) qualification Self-motivated, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities IOSH membership, working towards Chartered (CMIOSH) Lead Auditor qualification (or working towards)
