Job Description
HRLife are partnering with a London based people-centric SME as they look to hire an HR Operations lead.
It’s an exciting time as the business has recently appointed a new HR Director and this role will be pivotal in helping to shape and embed a modern, people-focused HR function.
This is a hands-on HR Operational role with real scope to improve how things are done, from recruitment and onboarding through to policies and people data. You’ll work closely with the small HR team helping to get the HR foundations right while creating a positive employee experience across the business.
As HR Operations Manager, you’ll be responsible for delivering efficient, compliant and people-focused HR operations across the full employee lifecycle. This role will ensure smooth day-to-day HR processes and drive continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
Lead ongoing recruitment activity, partnering with hiring managers to clarify needs and role requirements. Manage relationships with specialist agencies where required, driving cost-effective recruitment (including supporting direct sourcing and rationalising PSL use) Ensure a professional, engaging candidate experience that reflects the company’s employer brand. Own and continuously improve onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a seamless, compliant and values-led experience. Manage benefits administration, ensuring accuracy and timely processing. Maintain and update HR policies in line with UK employment law and best practice. Lead the review and refresh of the Employee Handbook. Produce accurate HR reporting and insights to support decision-making. Support HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives as the HR function evolves.

Proven experience in an HR Operations or HR Generalist role. Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice. Experience managing recruitment processes and employee benefits administration. Highly organised with strong attention to detail. Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced SME environment. Confident using HR systems to show meaningful data / trends.
This role is hybrid – 3 days in their London office.
