About the RoleHays Education is recruiting Qualified Humanities Teachers (QTS) to work on a supply basis across a variety of secondary schools in Cheltenham and the surrounding areas. We are looking for confident teachers specialising in any of the key Humanities subjects, including: History Geography Religious Studies (RS) Citizenship Sociology (where applicable) We offer a mix of: Day-to-day supply Short-term block placements Long-term Humanities roles available now, after Easter, and from September Whether you're exploring immediate opportunities or planning ahead, we'd love to support your next step.What you'll be doingAs a Humanities Supply Teacher, you will: Teach your specialist subject across Key Stages 3 and 4 Deliver pre-planned lessons and maintain student engagement Manage classroom behaviour professionally and with confidence Uphold school policies and contribute to a positive learning environment Adapt quickly to different schools, schemes of work and department expectations Long-term roles may also include planning, marking, assessment and participation in department meetings.What you'll need to succeed Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) A specialism in History, Geography, RS, or related Humanities subject Experience teaching in a UK secondary school (ECT placements accepted) Strong behaviour management and the ability to engage mixed-ability groups The right to work in the UK An Enhanced DBS, or willingness to apply for one A flexible and proactive approach to supply work ECTs are encouraged to apply Why work with Hays?
