About the Role
We are seeking an inspiring and committed Humanities Teacher to join our successful department. The role offers the opportunity to teach across Key Stages 3 and 4. The successful applicant will be passionate about their subject, able to engage students of all abilities, and committed to raising attainment through high-quality teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging lessons across the Humanities curriculum (History, Geography, and/or Religious Studies) Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including SEND and high-attaining students Assess, record, and report on student progress in line with school policies Contribute to the development of schemes of work and departmental resources Maintain high expectations of behaviour and achievement in line with the school's ethos Act as a form tutor, supporting the academic and personal development of students Participate in enrichment opportunities such as field trips, clubs, and revision sessions Engage in whole-school initiatives and contribute to xehkeey the wider life of the school
Person Specification
Essential: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) A degree in a Humanities-related subject Experience teaching Humanities at KS3 and KS4 Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Humanities education Excellent classroom management and organisational skills Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare Desirable: Ability to teach a Humanities subject at A-Level Experience with GCSE exam specifications (e.g. AQA, Edexcel, OCR) Evidence of contributing to curriculum development Experience working with diverse student populations
