Humanities Teacher (SEMH School) High WycombeTemp – Maternity Cover KS3 & KS4 | Ages 11–18 About the Role We are looking for a resilient and committed Humanities Teacher to join a supportive SEMH secondary school in High Wycombe. You’ll be teaching small classes (max. 6 students), delivering engaging Humanities lessons (History, Geography and/or Religious Studies) to pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference—helping young people rebuild confidence, re-engage with learning, and achieve positive outcomes. What You’ll Be Doing Deliver engaging Humanities lessons across KS3 & KS4 Adapt teaching to meet diverse SEMH needs Use a trauma-informed, relationship-based approach Work closely with pastoral and behaviour support teams Monitor progress and tailor interventions Create a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment What We’re Looking For Qualified Teacher (QTS or equivalent) Experience teaching Humanities at KS3 and/or KS4 Strong classroom presence with a patient and consistent approach Emotionally resilient and adaptable Passion for inclusive education Experience in SEMH, PRU, or alternative provision is desirable but not essential.
