No.: CJD0502U26\n\nLocation: Based near Derby\n\nSalary: From £35,000\n\nThis is a wonderful opportunity to join my client, a trusted, professional consultancy service, known for lending their skills and expertise to a variety of small- and large-scale projects, specialising in dewatering services. They are currently searching for a motivated, experienced Hydrologist with extensive design knowledge within ground water and dewatering, who is willing to take on a number of challenging projects across the local region.
You will be based near the green, conveniently-located city of Derby.\n\nBenefits for the role of Hydrologist include (but are not limited to):\n\nCompetitive salary package\nEmployee Pension Scheme\nGenerous annual leave entitlement\nFlexible, hybrid working arrangements\nDedication to your Continuing Professional Development (CPD)\nA close-knit, inclusive working environment, with a focus on collaboration and innovation \n\nResponsibilities for the role of Hydrologist include:\n\nSupporting projects from initial inception through to detailed design and implementation\nCarrying out groundwater impact assessments\nProducing conceptual hydrological and hydrogeological models\nDesigning and assessing temporary/permanent dewatering systems\nGenerating numerical and analytical groundwater models, in support of prospective designs\nAnalysing groundwater-surface water interactions and impacts\nProducing a number of reports, method statements, and other technical documents\nGathering and interpreting site investigation data and pumping test results\nLiaising with clients and other stakeholders across the public and private sectors \n\nRequired skills and experience for the role of Hydrologist include:\n\nFirst Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Hydrology, or similar\nExtensive experience in groundwater and de-watering design, in a UK-based consultancy or local authority setting\nSubstantial experience with the use of relevant software systems, e.g. MODFLOW, TUFLOW/Flood Modeller/HEC-RAS, SEEP/W, etc.\nDemonstrable experience with GIS software (i.e., QGIS, ArcGIS)\nConsiderable experience with the use of AutoCAD\nExperience of developing conceptual models\nProven experience of pumping test design and analysis\nDemonstrable experience of assessing groundwater flow, drawdown, and settlement\nExtensive experience in undertaking groundwater risk assessments\nExcellent working knowledge of hydraulic and hydrogeological principles\nOutstanding communication skills, written and verbal\nHighly-competent in numeracy, and technically-minded \n\nDesirable skills and experience for the role of Hydrologist include:\n\nAn additional qualification in a relevant discipline\nPossess Chartered Status with a relevant Professional Body (e.g., ICE, CIWEM, etc.), or actively working to attain this\nHold a full, valid UK Driving Licence\nHave a keen understanding of the relevant UK legislation, regulations, and frameworks \n\nIf you are interested in the role of Hydrologist, please do not hesitate to contact Caroline Davis at Penguin Recruitment.
