Title: Indirect Category Manager
Sector: Public Sector - Rail
Location: Derby / Hybrid (2-3 days in the office)
Salary & Package: £50,000 - £52,000 bonus free train travel additional benefits
Sea Global are proud to be partnering with a well-recognised organsiation at the forefront of the Public Sector Rail industry. They are recruiting for 2x Indirect Category Managers to join their exciting fast paced function.
They are looking for procurement professionals who have experience across a range of indirect categories and have two roles focusing on different areas:
- Generalist Indirects e.g. FM, Catering, Travel, Office Supplies, HR, Professional Services, and Marketing projects
- Construction e.g. NEC4/JCT contract experience
They are open to people from a range of industries and backgrounds but you will need to have experience with Public Contract Regulations 2015 or Procurement Act 2023.

Role & Responsibilities
- Report into and work closely with the Senior Category Manager and wider Category team
- End to end procurement and category management, including leading tenders, sourcing and supplier management
- Develop and implement strategic category strategies across the designated categories
- Create contractual agreements with supplies ensuring they are fit for purpose and deliver commerciality to the business
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, advising on best practice for obtaining best value for money
Experience & Requirements
- Experience within indirect categories is essential e.g. FM, Catering, Professional Services, HR, PPE, Office Supplies, Construction, Marketing etc.
- NEC/JCT experience is desirable but not at all essential
- Experience working within a regulated environment and adhering to the Public Contract Regulations (PCR 2015) / Procurement Act 2023 (or Utilities Contract Regulations)
- End-to-end procurement, category management, or tendering experience
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating excellent supplier management skills
