Morson are recruiting an ME Industrial Assembly Engineer (Night Shift) to join one of our advanced manufacturing clients at their Broughton site. This role is offered on a contract basis until December 2026, with a strong likelihood of extension.The ME Industrial Assembly Engineer will join the Assembly Technologies function, supporting the development, deployment, and continuous improvement of drilling and fastening equipment and processes used in complex wing manufacturing operations.This is a hands-on, shop-floor-focused engineering role requiring strong technical expertise, stakeholder engagement, and project delivery capability.Role Overview The ME Industrial Assembly Engineer will apply manufacturing engineering and project management expertise to research, define, and deliver new technologies and improvements within an industrial assembly environment. The role focuses on manual and semi-automated drilling and fastening processes, supporting both existing production equipment and future manufacturing capability.Working closely with manufacturing operations, support functions, and suppliers, the role plays a critical part in maintaining productivity, quality, safety, and cost effectiveness.Key Responsibilities Deploy and support manual and semi-automated drilling and fastening equipmentDefine new equipment requirements and develop new assembly processesProvide ongoing technical support to manufacturing operations and existing machineryLead and deliver continuous improvement (CI) and EHS projectsManage and support capital investment projects, ensuring delivery to cost, quality, and scheduleDevelop, document, and embed productivity improvements across assembly processesProvide methods and process engineering support to the operations teamInterface with internal customers, support functions, transnational counterparts, and external suppliersLead and participate in multi-functional project teams Skills & Experience Strong technical background in shop-floor manufacturing processesProven experience with drilling and/or fastening processesGood understanding of wing build or complex structural assembly processesExperience supporting production equipment in a live manufacturing environmentStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilityComfortable working cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and support teamsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsOrganised, detail-focused, and self-motivatedCompetent using Google Workspace tools (Sheets, Slides, Gmail, etc.)Fluent English at a technical and professional level Desirable Aerospace or high-integrity manufacturing experienceExposure to semi-automated assembly equipment (e.g. ADU / ABE)Experience delivering CI or capital projects in manufacturingEngineering degree or equivalent industry experience Additional Information Shift Pattern: Night shift Monday to Thursday, 20:45 – 06:0030% night shift allowance Location: Broughton (onsite)Security Clearance: BPSS+IR35: Off-Payroll Working Rules apply JBRP1_UKTJ
