THE COMPANY\n\nOur client is a leading, provider scaffolding & access, insulation and Coating to the industrial sector including process and energy.\n\nTHE ROLE\n\nWe are searching for a highly competent Estimator to join the UK Onshore Industrial & Energy division. Can be flexible with base location so remote working is acceptable subject to being willing to travel as and when required including to the Head Office in Grimsby, N.E Lincolnshire.\n\nJOB PURPOSE\n\nTo provide estimates and secure orders by providing market competitive solutions to meet customer requirements in compliance with company procedures and supporting the Business Development and Proposals Team.\n\nKEY RESULT AREAS\n\n * Provision of accurate Scaffolding, Coating & insulation estimates with practical and workable solutions, maximising the probability of obtaining targeted contracts.\n\n * Achievement of sales and financial targets. Optimising the opportunity to achieve or exceed revenue and profit margins, through securing contracts at the optimum award level.\n\n * Identification and conversion of new opportunities.\n\n * Building and maintaining key relationships with customers, providing high levels of customer service.\n\n * Compliance with Company policies and procedures.\n\nRESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES\n\n * Identify and target new Scaffolding, insulation and coating opportunities.\n\n * Produce creative and competitive solutions to customer requirements, ensuring estimates are accurate and comply with company requirements and procedures.\n\n * Ensure tenders are followed up with contractors to maximise probability of obtaining targeted contracts.\n\n * Monitor the mix of job values to meet the branch order targets.

Redress any imbalance to ensure targets are achieved at minimum.\n\n * Review the over £250k quotes and devise a strategy to strengthen the company’s position for each quote.\n\n * Assist line manager in monitoring and reporting on market pricing and competitor activity.\n\n * Evaluate reasons for lost bids and report as required.\n\n * Ensure customer requirements are met and where possible exceeded.\n\n * Attend negotiations and pre-contract handover meetings.\n\n * Prepare and deliver high standard presentations to customers as required.\n\n * Liaise with the design and operations teams on technical and operational requirements. Provide briefings to the operations team, and any information required once the job has commenced.\n\n * Provide information and reports for management teams as required.\n\n * Provide feedback from customers and the marketplace.\n\n * Adhere to Company’s policies and procedures.\n\n * Ensure that all estimating related administrative tasks are carried out efficiently.\n\n * Support and promote a team culture and company values.\n\nPERSONAL ATTRIBUTES / REQUIREMENTS\n\n * Proven track record as an Estimator with knowledge of Coating, Scaffolding and Insulation.\n\n * Experienced working within the Industrial Services and Energy sectors including oil & gas, petrochemical, chemical, energy, nuclear and defense.\n\n * Experience in bid-writing would be highly advantagerous however not essential.\n\n * Ability to identify opportunities and providing market competitive solutions.\n\n * Good self discipline and a strong commitment to quality and procedures.\n\n * Good communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships.\n\n * Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
