The Role
We are seeking a commercially focused In-House Legal Counsel to join our team on a part-time basis (3 days per week). The role will provide business-focused legal support across a broad range of commercial and contractual matters, working closely with key stakeholders to enable the business to operate efficiently while managing legal risk.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced lawyer seeking flexibility while remaining closely involved in strategic and day-to-day commercial and corporate matters. The successful candidate will be energetic and responsive to business needs, in a fast-paced, sales-focussed environment.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial & Contractual
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, which may include:
Customer and supplier contracts
Terms & conditions
Framework, partnership, and master service agreements
Advise on contractual risk and support the business in achieving commercially sound outcomes
Provide timely, practical legal advice to internal stakeholders
Support teams with day-to-day legal queries, balancing legal risk with commercial priorities
Act as a trusted legal advisor within the business
Identify and manage legal and commercial risks relevant to the business
Support compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies
Assist with the development and maintenance of legal policies and procedures
Stakeholder & External Counsel Management
Build effective relationships with stakeholders across Sales, Finance, Operations, and senior leadership
Instruct and manage external legal counsel when required
Process Improvement
Support the development of standard contract templates, guidance notes, and playbooks
Contribute to improving legal processes and efficiencies
Skills & Experience
UK-qualified solicitor with at least 5 years’ post-qualification experience
Strong experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
Ability to provide clear, concise, and commercially-focused legal advice
Strong understanding of data protection and regulatory matters
Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
Able to prioritise effectively and work independently within a part-time structure
