Are you an experienced Instrument & Electrical Technician looking for a role where your expertise truly matters? We’re supporting a well-established, safety-focused chemical manufacturing site seeking a skilled professional to take ownership of their instrumentation and electrical reliability / maintenance. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a position where you’ll help set standards, influence best practice, and play a key role in maintaining safe, compliant operations on a lower-tier COMAH site. You will be making a difference onsite and implement standards that will be adopted site wide and potentially business wide.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical and instrumentation systems across site. This position is ideal for someone who understands the safety-critical nature of instrumentation within a regulated environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards.
You will be responsible for:
* Maintain, calibrate, and bench-test instruments such as pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters
* Develop inspection and testing plans for field instrumentation
* Maintain, fault-find, and repair LV/MV systems, including switchgear, MCCs, transformers, motors, VFDs, and distribution networks
* Carry out preventive and predictive maintenance
* Support installations, upgrades, and commissioning activities
* Support shutdowns, start-ups, and plant turnarounds
Safety, Compliance and Continuous Improvement
* Adhere strictly to permit-to-work and LOTO procedures
* Ensure all equipment complies with hazardous area standards (ATEX / IECEx where applicable) – desirable
* Maintain accurate maintenance and calibration documentation
* Investigate equipment failures and support root cause analysis
* Recommend improvements to reliability and maintenance strategies
* Coordinate effectively with operations, engineering teams, and contractors
