Instrumentation Software Engineer | Oxford | £50,000 - £65,000 As part of our clients plans to grow their UK operations, they are expanding our Engineering Team and seeking an Instrumentation Software Engineer. This role involves creating software and firmware interfaces used to control and monitor advanced optical and atomic-based systems that support next-generation timing and navigation technologies. The Role: +Build software interfaces for external hardware and APIs using Python+Use Python, C, and other languages to operate measurement equipment and laboratory instruments+Combine multiple hardware components into unified, functional systems+Evaluate software and hardware performance using benchtop tools and larger field-ready setups Key Skills and Experience: +A bachelors degree or equivalent practical experience in engineering, science, or a related field+Multiple years of industry or relevant experience working with high-level programming languages (e.g., Python, C, Rust)+Strong proficiency in Python+Background in developing software used to operate or interface with hardware+Familiarity with hardwaresoftware integration, including timing and synchronization considerations Join a team where your work directly contributes to advancing cutting-edge technology.
