Job Description

The Opportunity

We are seeking a senior, hands-on Fractional CTO / Integration & AI Architect to design and lead the integration of our third-party systems and to architect an AI-augmented operating platform.

This is not a pure development role.

It is a senior architecture, systems, and governance role requiring strong judgment, financial services experience, and the ability to translate business and risk requirements into robust technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and own the end-to-end systems architecture across:
  • CRM
  • Loan origination & servicing platforms
  • KYC / AML providers
  • Banking & payments
  • Accounting and investor reporting
  • Build and manage API-based integrations to create a single, reliable source of truth
  • Define data models, workflows, and controls suitable for a regulated credit business
  • Architect and oversee the responsible integration of AI, including:
  • Document ingestion and data extraction
  • Risk flagging and exception detection
  • Decision-support tooling (not autonomous decision-making)
  • Establish clear AI governance, auditability, and human-in-the-loop approval frameworks
  • Advise on buy vs build decisions, vendor selection, and technical roadmaps
  • Work closely with senior management to align technology with credit policy, risk discipline, and growth objectives
  • Potentially lead or oversee external developers and specialist vendors
What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • 10+ years experience in technology leadership, architecture, or senior engineering roles
  • Proven experience integrating multiple third-party systems via APIs
  • Direct experience in FinTech, lending, credit, payments, or regulated financial services
  • Strong understanding of data architecture, workflows, and system reliability
  • Experience deploying AI in production environments with governance and controls
  • Ability to think like an owner: pragmatic, risk-aware, commercially grounded

Highly Desirable

  • Prior experience as a Fractional CTO or senior consultant
  • Exposure to private credit, mortgage lending, or structured finance
  • Familiarity with regulatory, audit, and compliance expectations
  • Experience scaling systems without over-engineering
What This Role Is Not

  • Not a junior or mid-level developer role
  • Not a “build everything from scratch” mandate
  • Not an AI research or experimentation role

We are focused on durable, auditable, institutional-grade infrastructure.

Why This Is Interesting

  • Direct access to decision-makers
  • Ability to shape the firm’s core operating platform
  • Clear commercial and risk-driven objectives
  • Meaningful impact without big-company bureaucracy
  • Opportunity to expand the role over time
