Deputy Head of Finance (Interim - 1 Year)

Hybrid 3 days (with travel to HQ near London - 2 days)
57,000 per annum 30 days holiday + 8 bank holidays
Full-time Fixed-term (12 months)

Our client is seeking a proactive Deputy Head of Finance for a one-year interim role. You'll lead payroll, support financial reporting, manage cash flow, and supervise a small finance team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee monthly payroll and liaise with external providers.
  • Draft management accounts (P&L, balance sheet).
  • Maintain cash flow forecasts and assist with year-end accounts.
  • Line-manage Finance Officer and Assistant.
  • Drive improvements in systems and controls.
Qualifications
  • Strong literacy/numeracy; degree desirable.
  • Qualified or part-qualified (ACMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
  • Payroll qualification (desirable).
Experience
  • Hands-on payroll experience in complex environments.
  • Knowledge of Cascade/IRIS and Sage Intacct.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Collaboration with HR and multi-site teams.
  • Staff/volunteer management experience

  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure.
  • Confidential, flexible, and deadline-driven.
The Deputy Head of Finance will be immediately available, have full right to work in the UK and the role is subject to Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks.
