Interim Senior Financial Accountant - London Insurance

This role sits within a high performing finance function and will focus on financial reporting and control within an insurance or banking environment.
Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing and reviewing quarterly and annual financial statements in line with IFRS (including IFRS 17)
• Ownership of general ledger integrity, reconciliations and balance sheet review
• Supporting month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes
• Leading or supporting audit preparation, working closely with external auditors
• Supporting technical accounting matters, including revenue and insurance accounting treatments
• Managing or supporting VAT and tax-related accounting entries where required
• Working closely with stakeholders across Finance, Risk, Compliance and Operations
• Driving continuous improvement across reporting processes, controls and documentation

What you'll need to succeed

• Must have experience in Insurance or Banking (industry background essential)
• Strong technical reporting knowledge under IFRS - IFRS 17 experience is mandatory.
• Proven experience working with general ledgers, reconciliations and close processes
• Strong background in financial / statutory reporting and audit interaction
• Confident communicator with the ability to engage senior stakeholders
• Detail-oriented, analytical and comfortable working in regulated environments
• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or international equivalent)
