Interim Senior Financial Accountant - London Insurance
This role sits within a high performing finance function and will focus on financial reporting and control within an insurance or banking environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and reviewing quarterly and annual financial statements in line with IFRS (including IFRS 17)
- Ownership of general ledger integrity, reconciliations and balance sheet review
- Supporting month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes
- Leading or supporting audit preparation, working closely with external auditors
- Supporting technical accounting matters, including revenue and insurance accounting treatments
- Managing or supporting VAT and tax-related accounting entries where required
- Working closely with stakeholders across Finance, Risk, Compliance and Operations
- Driving continuous improvement across reporting processes, controls and documentation
What you'll need to succeed
- Must have experience in Insurance or Banking (industry background essential)
- Strong technical reporting knowledge under IFRS - IFRS 17 experience is mandatory.
- Proven experience working with general ledgers, reconciliations and close processes
- Strong background in financial / statutory reporting and audit interaction
- Confident communicator with the ability to engage senior stakeholders
- Detail-oriented, analytical and comfortable working in regulated environments
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or international equivalent)
