Interim Head of Care

We are seeking an experienced Interim Head of Operations to lead and deliver a significant operational transformation across a portfolio of elderly care services. The role covers a number of elderly residential and nursing homes, with a focus on stabilising performance, improving occupancy, and ensuring delivery of a fully costed transformation plan already in place.
Key Objectives:
* Execute and implement a pre-approved, fully costed transformation action plan.
* Improve performance across occupancy, operational efficiency, and financial outcomes.
* Provide strong, visible operational leadership across the portfolio.
* Work collaboratively with the Regional Managers to drive delivery.
* Lead organisational change, including restructure processes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Act as a hands-on operator, stepping in where needed to maintain service quality.
* Support and guide managers to embed improved standards and practices.
* Direct daily operational oversight across multiple services.
* Operational Leadership
Transformation & Performance Improvement:
* Lead delivery of the existing transformation plan in partnership with Regional Managers.
* Consult with teams to ensure buy-in and smooth implementation.
* Drive measurable improvements in occupancy, service performance, and financial efficiency.
Change Management:
* Manage restructure processes.
* Ensure the workforce is supported and aligned with new ways of working.
Reporting & Senior Stakeholder Management:
* Provide regular progress updates with risks and mitigations.
* Prepare executive-level summaries.
* Work closely with leadership to maintain alignment on priorities.
Essential Experience:
* Senior operational leadership within elderly residential or nursing care.
* Demonstrated success in turnaround or transformation programmes.
* Multi-site leadership experience with geographically dispersed teams.
* Experience delivering restructures and business improvements.

* Strong decision-maker and communicator.
* Excellent consultation and influencing skills.
* Strong analysis and reporting abilities.
* Comfortable with national travel
