Head of Finance (0.6 FTE, Fixed-Term Contract) Salary: £73,000 per annum (pro rata) Hours: 21 hours per week (flexible working required) Location: London Reports to: VP Finance & Operations We are proud to be partnering with a performing arts institution in their search for an experienced and proactive Head of Finance to lead and develop our finance function. This is a senior role responsible for ensuring robust financial controls, delivering high-quality financial reporting, and supporting strategic decision-making across the organisation. Working closely with the VP Finance & Operations, you will play a key role in driving financial performance, managing risk, and ensuring compliance, while providing expert financial guidance to internal stakeholders. Key Responsibilities
Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, supporting budget holders across the organisation Monitor financial performance and investigate significant variances Oversee the production of annual accounts, financial statements, and audit processes Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and funding agreements Manage relationships with auditors, banks, and external funding bodies Oversee cash flow forecasting and financial planning, including a rolling five-year plan Lead and develop the finance team (Finance Manager, Finance Officers, Payroll Officer, Credit Control) Improve financial systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy Provide financial insight and support for business cases, funding applications, and strategic initiatives Support senior leadership and trustees with financial reporting and risk management
About You You will be a qualified finance professional with strong leadership experience and a collaborative approach. You are detail‑oriented, analytical, and confident working in a fast‑paced environment. Essential:
Qualified accountant or equivalent finance qualification Proven experience in a similar senior finance role Strong knowledge of financial controls, reporting, and compliance Experience in charity accounting (including SORP) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organisational, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities Advanced Excel and digital systems proficiency

Experience within the education or not‑for‑profit sector
