Interim Head of FP&A and Systems - 6 month contract - Start Feb/March 2026 - £600 per day (outside IR35) - Hybrid (4 days remote and 1 day in Central London)

A private‑equity‑backed technology business is seeking an Interim Finance Systems and FP&A Project Lead for an initial 6‑month assignment. Joining at a pivotal stage of transformation, you will take full ownership of a finance systems and FP&A implementation designed to elevate reporting, forecasting and analytical capability across the group.

This role sits at the intersection of finance, technology and strategy. It is well suited to a Qualified Accountant with strong FP&A expertise, hands‑on finance systems experience and robust financial modelling skills, combined with the commercial insight needed to support a scaling, investment‑backed organisation through its next phase of growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, plan and deliver the implementation of a new FP&A system (Planful).
  • Partner with Planful consultants and an overseas finance team to define parameters, manage timelines and ensure successful delivery.
  • Streamline and simplify an existing Excel forecasting model.
  • Drive, support and own the group budgeting process and rolling forecasts.
  • Take ownership of Group balance sheet and cash flow forecasting.
  • Produce the monthly Group executive pack, delivering clear reporting, insight and analysis.
  • Manage stakeholder reporting for the board and investors.
  • Support divisional teams through financial planning cycles.
  • Introduce new ways of working and drive efficiencies across finance to enhance performance.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives and provide support on M&A activity.
  • Oversee the Commercial Finance team, including weekly forecast reviews and process improvements to enhance forecasting accuracy.

This role offers the opportunity to use your FP&A and systems expertise to embed a more data‑driven approach to planning, performance and decision‑making.

Skills & Experience

  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) with strong FP&A and finance systems experience.
  • Experience implementing systems such as Planful, Anaplan, Workday Adaptive Insights or similar.
  • Strong analytical capability with sound commercial judgement.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Experience working within an international business environment.
