HR Employee Experience Lead

Rate: £500–£600/day umbrella

Hybrid: Onsite 3 Days Per Week

Sector: Public Sector

Location: North London


Important Note: This is not a traditional Employee Relations–focused role. The emphasis is on Employee Experience.


This position is responsible for shaping and delivering a positive, consistent employee experience across the full HR lifecycle. Through high-quality HR advice, onboarding, learning & development, and people-focused change initiatives, you will ensure employees feel supported, engaged, and set up to succeed.


This is not an HR Business Partner role. Instead, it is a hands-on HR Manager position with responsibility for selected ER matters, L&D initiatives, and team leadership. The role is operationally focused, requiring someone who can balance day-to-day HR delivery with continuous improvement of the employee journey.


Core Responsibilities

  • Support AD of HR to deliver consistent employee experience
  • Lead employee relations activity
  • HR advisory + manager guidance
  • Induction + some L&D
  • Support change projects
  • Improve responsiveness and reliability of HR service
  • Help managers become more self-sufficient
  • Manage part of HR team


Key Requirements

  • Senior HR professional level
  • Strong ER case management experience
  • Comfortable with complex/high-risk cases
  • Hands-on operational leader
  • Proactive, organised, delivery-focused
