Location: Leeds / Manchester / Newcastle (60% onsite)
Duration: 12-Month Contract

Day Rate: Up to £750/day (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
\n

We're looking for an experienced Interim Technical Lead to help modernise and scale a high-profile, digital service used by millions.
\n
\n
This is a hands-on leadership role within a major transformation programme - moving from monolithic systems to modern microservices, standardising engineering practices, and strengthening cloud and DevOps capability.
\n
\n
Responsibilities:
\n
\n
Lead and mentor engineering teams
\n
Set technical direction aligned to strategy
\n
Deliver secure, high-quality, scalable services
\n
Build APIs and server-side applications
\n
Champion CI/CD, automation, and best practice
\n
Support and evolve high-traffic platforms
\n
\n
\n
Required Experience:
\n
Either:
\n
\n
Java, microservices, APIs, automated testing, MongoDB, Kafka
\n
\n
Or:
\n
\n
AWS, Terraform, GitLab CI/Jenkins, DevOps, Infrastructure as Code
\n
\n
\n
Plus:

\n
Strong technical leadership in complex environments
\n
Secure design, version control & engineering standards
\n
Linux/Unix systems and scalable architectures
\n
\n
\n
