Job Description

A leading global financial institution is looking to hire an experienced Interim Legal Project Manager to join their Global Legal Solutions function for an 18 month basis. This team plays a critical role in delivering large‑scale regulatory, strategic, and risk‑related programmes across the legal organisation.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work at the intersection of legal, technology, and operations, partnering with global teams and driving high‑impact change initiatives.

You’ll be joining a high‑performing Legal Program Services group, part of a wider global legal operations function. The team supports complex, multi‑jurisdictional programmes that have a significant legal component — including regulatory initiatives, technology re‑platforming, process optimisation, and risk & control projects.

The role involves close collaboration with legal teams, business stakeholders, technology partners, external counsel, and vendors.

Key Responsibilities

You will work on regulatory and process‑optimisation projects, supporting end‑to‑end delivery across multiple workstreams:

  • Manage one or more projects from initiation to completion, including analysis, stakeholder meetings, workshops, and vendor management
  • Gather, analyse, document, and validate requirements, including creating BRDs
  • Work with technology teams to translate business requirements into design and implementation documentation
  • Map as‑is and to‑be processes, identifying improvement opportunities and assessing impact
  • Develop and track detailed project plans, manage RAID logs, and ensure timely resolution of issues and dependencies
  • Produce meeting materials, document minutes, maintain scorecards, and support PMO‑level reporting
  • Facilitate business reviews, guide impact analysis, and summarise solution recommendations
  • Create user guides, runbooks, go‑live checklists, and deliver training as needed
  • Support testing plans and lead UAT: building scripts, coordinating testers, documenting issues, and partnering with tech on fixes
  • Participate in vendor/technology demos and provide subject matter expertise
  • Operate change‑control processes and monitor delivery through post‑implementation

Knowledge & Experience

  • 7–10+ years’ experience in project management and business analysis
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in Banking & Capital Markets, with strong product understanding
  • Exposure to Legal and/or Compliance functions is highly advantageous
  • Experience in Risk & Control frameworks preferred
  • Strong background in building project plans (ideally MS Project) and RAID management
  • Experience managing scope change and communicating impacts to senior stakeholders

Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong facilitation ability — confident running workshops and stakeholder meetings
  • High‑level problem‑solving and root‑cause analysis capability
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Visio skills, able to create compelling presentations and clear process flows
  • Strong Excel ability (pivots, functions, macros)
  • Exceptional time‑management, multitasking ability, and comfort working under pressure

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Change or Project Management certifications are beneficial
