Interim Senior Accountant- Oxford (Hybrid) | Circa £350-£400 per day | Interim Contract- 6 Months + We are working with one of Oxfordshire’s most exciting VC-backed start-ups who are seeking an Interim Senior Accountant to join their finance team during a key period of growth and transformation. This is a hands‑on role, ideal for a qualified accountant who can quickly add value in a fast‑paced environment. Key Responsibilities

Support the finance team with month‑end close, ensuring accurate and timely delivery Preparation and review of management accounts and period‑end accounts Perform balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving variances Prepare and post accruals, prepayments and journals Review Accounts Payable transactions, ensuring accuracy, correct coding and strong controls Review and support the preparation of VAT returns, ensuring compliance and timely submission Assist with audit preparation, including schedules, reconciliations and responding to audit queries Support process improvements and controls during a period of change Provide ad‑hoc financial analysis and support to senior stakeholders as required

Candidate Requirements

ACCA / ACA / CIMA qualified/ QBE Strong end‑to‑end management accounting experience Proven background in month‑end close and balance sheet ownership Solid experience reviewing AP transactions and VAT returns Advanced Excel skills Comfortable working in a fast‑moving, change‑driven environment Available at short notice
