Salary: Depending on ExperienceLocation: SolentContract: Permanent Intermediate Quantity Surveyor We are seeking a commercially aware individual to support our Commercial Managers and Quantity Surveyors across multiple projects. The role involves assisting with cost management, procurement, contract administration, and financial reporting to help ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. You will work closely with project teams to monitor progress, manage valuations and variations, and support effective cost control, while identifying commercial risks and opportunities. Key Responsibilities
Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure commercial coverage during the project development. Assist in preparing and submitting interim valuations and final accounts. Help maintain and update contract documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance. Support subcontract negotiation and administration processes. Assist in managing and valuing contract variations. Support in negotiations and facilitate the placement of Subcontract Agreements with specialist subcontractors. Help perform valuations, prepare, and submit compliant payment notices to subcontractors in line with the Subcontract Agreement. Coordinate the agreement of final accounts, both upstream and downstream. Contribute to cost-value reconciliation and support ongoing project reporting. Collaborate with the project delivery team to ensure all commercial aspects are efficiently managed. Review project programmes and ensure that the necessary contractual notices are issued as required by the contract. Provide assistance to the Senior Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Team as needed.
Skills & Experience
HNC/HND/BSc in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field (or working towards this qualification). Strong communication skills and attention to detail. Ability to work well within a team and under the guidance of senior staff. Willingness to learn and develop within the role. Basic understanding of construction contracts and processes. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Full driving license preferred.
Desirable
Previous experience in a similar role or a placement during studies.
