This role sits in our Corporate Affairs team, which looks after all internal and external communications for M Group. The team keeps our people informed about what’s happening across our Group, handles relationships with media and stakeholders, and manages our marketing and digital channels.
Please note: this role is offered on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract and requires 2–3 days per week on site at our Stevenage head office.

What you’ll be doing
This role acts as a trusted communications partner to the IT department and the CTO, working closely with senior leaders to deliver clear, purposeful internal communications that align with wider business priorities.
You’ll develop and deliver a communications plan that supports the IT community through change, builds trust, reduces uncertainty, and encourages the adoption of new ways of working. Central to the role is shaping a clear departmental narrative, translating complex technical topics into simple, compelling messages that explain both what’s changing and why.
Change communication is a core focus. You’ll advise on and create well‑considered messages that foster openness, inclusion, and a strong sense of togetherness, using the most appropriate channels to reach different audiences effectively.
You’ll also guide leaders on channel strategy and communication style, support the delivery of all‑hands calls and internal events such as departmental conferences, and ensure all activity aligns with Group internal communications and Corporate Affairs approaches.
What you’ll bring
Essential
- Strong experience in internal communications, with the ability to build effective and collaborative stakeholder relationships.
- Proven experience delivering clear and effective change communications that support engagement and adoption.
- A track record of creating internal communications that drive positive employee engagement.
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment while keeping stakeholders informed.
- Excellent attention to detail with a clear, concise writing style.
- Comfortable working within a technical or complex environment.
Desirable
- Experience working within a broader communications landscape, ensuring activity is aligned and coordinated.
- Experience using AI tools to support efficient, high‑quality outputs.
- Background working in technology or IT‑focused teams or organisations.
