Internal Cover Supervisor Position: Internal Cover Supervisor Location: Blackburn (BB1) Contract Type: Full Time, Term-time only Daily Rate: £120.00 - £140.00 per day. Working Hours: 08:30 - 15:30 Start Date: March 2026 Prospero Teaching is working in partnership with a specialist Pupil Referral Unit in Blackburn that supports pupils with SEMH needs, often alongside Autism, ADHD, and additional learning needs. The provision offers a structured and supportive environment focused on emotional regulation, positive behaviour management, and re-engaging young people with education. With small class sizes, strong staff support, and a dedicated multidisciplinary team, the setting provides personalised interventions that prioritise resilience, confidence, independence, and essential life skills alongside academic progress. About the Role: As an Internal Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning across the provision. Your responsibilities will include: Supervising classes during teacher absences, ensuring a calm and purposeful learning environment* Delivering pre-planned lessons and adapting activities where necessary* Managing and supporting pupils with challenging behaviour using appropriate strategies* Promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement* Supporting students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups when required* Working closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and senior leaders* Contributing to a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment What We're Looking For: Proven experience managing challenging behaviour is essential* Experience working with children or young people with SEMH (desirable)* Strong behaviour management skills* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills* A calm, consistent, and resilient approach* Confidence leading a classroom independently* A genuine commitment to inclusion and helping every young person succeed This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and adaptable professional who is confident supporting vulnerable learners and maintaining high expectations within a specialist educational setting.
