Internal Sales Assistant Manager

Our client is seeking an Internal Sales Assistant Manager to act as a key link between operations, sales, and client management. This is a varied role combining elements of account management and office support, focused on maintaining client relationships, managing quotations and orders, and ensuring smooth day-to-day business operations. The position suits someone highly organised, commercially aware, and confident managing both clients and internal processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Account Management & Client Services:
• Act as a primary point of contact for clients, maintaining regular communication
• Build strong, long-term relationships to encourage repeat business
• Ensure clients remain active and engaged
• Provide updates on orders, deliveries, and any service-related queries
• Deliver a high standard of customer service at all times

Sales, Quotations & Purchasing:
• Prepare accurate and competitive quotations for clients
• Manage incoming orders via phone and email
• Place orders with suppliers in a timely manner
• Negotiate competitive buying rates and apply appropriate client pricing
• Follow up on outstanding quotations to maximise conversion
• Monitor daily and monthly turnover against targets

Office & Operational Support:
• Support the day-to-day running of the office and internal processes
• Assist in overseeing the Accounts function to ensure smooth operations
• Manage vehicle-related services including insurance, fuel, and upkeep
• Identify and implement process and purchasing improvements

Administrative & Systems:
• Maintain accurate records using SAGE, Excel, and Word
• Support reporting and general administrative duties

Essential Requirements:
• Experience in an account management, sales support, or office management role
• Strong organisational and multitasking skills
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills
• Commercial awareness and confidence with pricing and negotiations
• Proficiency in SAGE, Excel, and Word

Desirable:
• Experience supporting accounts or finance-related processes
• Background in purchasing or supplier coordination
• Experience working in a fast-paced, SME environment
