Internal Sales Manager - Freight Forwarding
Location: London Heathrow
Salary: Up to £55,000 + benefits
A leading global freight forwarding organisation is looking for an experienced Internal Sales Manager to lead and develop a high-performing Inside Sales and Pricing function that plays a critical role in driving commercial success.
This is a key leadership position responsible for supporting the wider commercial organisation, managing pricing activity, and ensuring the delivery of competitive quotations that win and retain business.
The Role
Reporting into the UK Sales leadership team, you will take responsibility for the daily management of the Inside Sales and Sales Support teams, ensuring high-quality commercial support across the business.
You will work closely with Business Development, Product and Operations teams, helping convert opportunities into revenue through effective pricing, tender management and customer engagement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing the Inside Sales and Pricing teams
- Managing the quotation process for spot shipments, tenders and customer proposals
- Supporting new business acquisition and existing customer retention
- Managing annual, quarterly and monthly rate cards
- Supporting the commercial team with RFQs, tenders and pricing strategies
- Providing data analysis and reporting on quotation success rates
- Coordinating with product teams and international partners to secure competitive rates
- Supporting the transition of won business into operational teams
- Driving telesales and portfolio development activity within the Inside Sales team
- Identifying process improvements and commercial efficiencies
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 5 years' experience in freight forwarding
- Previous team leadership or management experience
- Strong knowledge of freight products (air, ocean, or multimodal) and operational processes
- Experience supporting business development, pricing or tender activity
- Strong analytical and commercial decision-making skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management abilities
- Confident working with CRM systems and commercial tools
