A welcoming and supportive primary school in the NP19 area is seeking a motivated and skilled Intervention Teaching Assistant to join their team. This role involves delivering targeted support to help pupils close gaps in learning and achieve their full potential.
✅ About the Role
As an Intervention Teaching Assistant in a primary school, you will:
Deliver structured intervention sessions in phonics, reading, writing, and numeracy.
Work 1:1 and with small groups to boost progress and confidence.
Support pupils across Early Years, Key Stage 1, and/or Key Stage 2 depending on school needs.
Use school‑provided resources and assessment tools to track progress.
Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to adapt learning activities.
Provide consistent encouragement to help children develop resilience and independence.
What We’re Looking For
We welcome candidates who:
Have experience supporting learning in a primary school environment.
Are confident delivering core subject interventions.
Have good knowledge of phonics schemes (Read Write Inc, Jolly Phonics, etc.) – desirable.
Are patient, positive, and able to build strong relationships with pupils.
Can work proactively and follow guidance from teachers and senior leaders.
Teaching assistant qualifications (Level 2/3) are beneficial but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
