Investment Banking – EMEA FIG (Insurance) – Vice President – London
We are looking for a highly motivated banker to join our dynamic EMEA FIG Insurance team. The role offers the chance to contribute meaningfully to our Investment Banking franchise, working across public and private M&A and capital markets transactions for corporate, financial sponsor and government clients throughout the insurance ecosystem.
Role Overview
As a Vice President you will lead day‑to‑day execution on live transactions, support client coverage and origination, manage analysts and associates, and collaborate with senior bankers and cross‑border product teams (M&A, ECM, DCM, LevFin, Ratings/Credit) to deliver best‑in‑class advice.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the origination and execution of complex M&A and capital markets transactions for insurance clients.
- Oversee and review financial analysis, valuation and modelling (DCF, trading and transaction comps, merger models, LBOs, accretion/dilution) ensuring analytical rigor and accuracy.
- Develop and present strategic advice and materials to clients, including board‑level executives.
- Coordinate workstreams with internal product partners and external advisers across jurisdictions; manage due diligence, documentation and negotiations from pitch to close.
- Drive marketing initiatives, pitches and thought leadership tailored to insurance regulatory and market developments.
- Mentor and develop junior team members; provide training, feedback and support recruiting.
- Ensure high‑quality deliverables, strong client relationships and adherence to internal risk, conduct and compliance requirements.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities And Skills
- Significant Investment Banking experience with a strong track record in Financial Institutions, ideally with meaningful exposure to the Insurance sector across products and transaction types.
- Proven project leadership and process management skills; ability to run multiple cross‑border transactions under tight timelines.
- Advanced quantitative and analytical abilities, including expert Excel modelling and valuation.
- Demonstrated origination contribution (idea generation, relationship development, pitch leadership) and an ability to convert opportunities into mandates.
- Proactive ownership mindset; highly organized, detail oriented and decisive.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; advanced degree a plus.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities And Skills
- Additional European language skills to support cross‑border execution and client engagement across EMEA.
- Experience working with financial sponsors and insurance‑focused investors active in EMEA; familiarity with regulatory frameworks (e.g., Solvency II, reinsurance structures, capital optimisation).
