IP Lawyer


This customer focussed business is a FTSE 100 consumer brand trusted and relied on by people all over the UK and throughout Europe.


The Opportunity


The business now has a need for an IP lawyer to join and provide dedicated IP legal support to its brands. The role is broad and will cover patents, TMs, brand protection and IP in Group Commercial contracts.


The work will involve providing legal advice relating to design rights and new products, ensuring innovations are not infrining any existing patents but also protecting new innovations. You will also support the business on trade marks and brand protection, which will include managing the IP portfolio. You will also play a key role in protecting and enforcing IP rights. You will review IP licences as well as the IP provisions of large commercial contracts. A key part of the role will be to partner closely with the brands team, protecting and maintaining brands and supporting on strategic IP projects.


About You


This is a highly unique opportunity for an IP lawyer to join a consumer brands business in a key role relating to protection of these brands from both a patent and TM perspective. The role will suit an IP lawyer with either a TM background or patent background who is curious and open to learning new areas of IP and becoming a truly well-rounded IP lawyer for a FTSE 100 business.


A keen interest in consumer brands an production innivation is key, along with the ability to establish strong working relationships across the business.
