Location: Broughton (Onsite)

Contract: 12 Month Contract (likely extension)

Hours: 35 Hours per week, worked over 4.5 days (between 7am-7pm, hours

agreed by the business)

Overtime:Paid over 35 hours (25% uplift Mon-Fri, 50% Sat-Sun)

Rate: £24.01ph PAYE / £32.13ph Umbrella

Clearance: BPSS (completed by the Client)
IR35: Inside IR35

The Opportunity

Our client, a leading organisation within the aerospace manufacturing sector, is seeking a Jigs & Tooling Engineer to join their Manufacturing Engineering function based in Broughton. This role has been created due to increased workload and offers the chance to work on high‑profile engineering programmes within a complex manufacturing environment.

You will play a key role in the development, industrialisation and delivery of jigs and tooling solutions, supporting manufacturing operations from concept through to final acceptance and handover.

Key Responsibilities

Develop concepts and lead the industrialisation of jigs and tooling assets, including creation, development and modification through to final handover to Operations
Deliver signed‑off tooling statements of work and technical specifications covering all launch activities
Ensure tooling, facilities and manufacturing systems meet manufacturing engineering process requirements
Collaborate closely with Manufacturing Engineering, programme teams, suppliers and wider stakeholders
Ensure all manufacturing engineering and supplier processes meet EHS, Quality and regulatory standards
Support the delivery of a capable manufacturing system that meets product design and process requirements
Deploy lean manufacturing principles to drive efficiency and continuous improvement
Provide tooling and equipment solutions in conjunction with integration suppliers
Support R&T submission processes to secure development funding where required
Establish robust measurement, reporting and governance aligned with programme and PMO structures

Skills & Experience Required

Experience within aerospace or complex manufacturing environments, ideally supporting wing or large structural assemblies
Strong knowledge of jigs, tooling, manufacturing processes and build philosophies
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation
Understanding of product development and design‑to‑manufacture principles
Awareness of health & safety and quality standards within a regulated environment
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Experience working within multi‑functional teams
Project management experience is highly desirable

Qualifications

Appropriate engineering qualification (e.g. HNC, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience)
