On behalf of a trusted public sector client, we are recruiting for a skilled Joiner to support a busy maintenance team working across a variety of public buildings and facilities. This role offers stable, long-term work with a respected organisation focused on quality and community service. Key Responsibilities: Carry out a wide range of first and second fix joinery, including fitting doors, windows, floors, partitions, and roofing structures. Undertake reactive and planned maintenance across council-owned buildings, including community centres, offices, and leisure facilities. Interpret and work from technical drawings, job sheets, and joinery specifications. Install and repair fitted furniture, fixtures, staircases, and other bespoke wooden structures. Use and maintain hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. Ensure all work complies with relevant health and safety regulations, building codes, and quality standards. Additional Duties: Work from maintenance schedules and specifications where required. Identify, order, and collect required materials. Assist in coaching and on-the-job training for apprentices, temporary staff, or contractors. Participate in performance monitoring and reporting procedures as set by the service. Drive fleet vehicles to and between work sites when necessary. Where applicable, supervise assigned staff and contribute to their development through effective training and task management.
