Job Title - Junior Project Engineer
Duration - 6 Months (potential to extend to 12 months)
Working Model - Hybrid (2 days per week in Central London)
Hourly Rate - £25p/hour - £35p/hour (dependant on experience)
Project Engineer Overview
We are looking for a Junior Project / Package Engineer to support the delivery of equipment packages for offshore oil & gas projects, including FPSO turret mooring systems.
This is a hands-on role in a small company, where you will take ownership of tasks and work independently without a large support team. You will be responsible for reviewing engineering documents, liaising with vendors, tracking progress, and supporting project delivery.
The role suits someone with 2–5 years’ engineering experience who is proactive, organised, and comfortable managing multiple tasks across both technical and project activities.
The Project Engineer role will involve:
Reviewing engineering documents, providing comments, and returning to vendors
Coordinating and collating multidisciplinary comments for vendor submissions
Liaising with vendors on technical queries and clarifications
Monitoring vendor progress and supporting expediting activities
Reviewing quality documentation, including ITPs and inspection records
Supporting interface coordination across multiple equipment packages
Liaising with classification bodies where required
Preparing and maintaining progress reports and tracking deliverables
Supporting logistics and delivery coordination of equipment packages
Witnessing or attending Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
The Project Engineer will need to have the following attributes:
2–5 years’ experience in a relevant engineering discipline (mechanical, electrical, structural or similar)
Experience reviewing and marking up engineering documents and drawings
Experience liaising with vendors and handling technical queries
Understanding of project expediting and progress tracking
Familiarity with quality documentation (ITPs, inspection records)
Exposure to oil & gas, offshore, or petrochemical projects (FPSO experience beneficial)
Proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a small team environment
Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks
