Job Description
Junior Quality Engineer\n\nLocation: Manchester\n Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 DOE\n Type: Full-time, permanent\n\nAre you detail-driven, technically curious and keen to build a career in quality within a high-performance engineering environment? As a Junior Quality Engineer, you'll support the Quality Manager and wider teams to ensure products, processes and documentation meet exacting customer and regulatory requirements.\n\nWhat you'll be doing\n\nSupporting day-to-day Quality Assurance activities across operations\n\nMaintaining corrective actions and non-conformance processes within the QMS\n\nCompiling First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs)\n\nCarrying out internal audits and supporting external audits\n\nManaging drawing control and supporting engineering change processes\n\nResponding to customer NCRs in a timely and professional manner\n\nWorking cross functionally to drive continuous improvement\n\nWhat we're looking for\n\nEssential:\n\nAn HND, completed engineering apprenticeship, or equivalent practical qualification in engineering, manufacturing, materials or a related discipline\n\nRelevant hands-on experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment\n\nUnderstanding of quality, inspection or assurance processes\n\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings\n\nStrong attention to detail, problem-solving ability and clear communication skills\n\nIT literate, with confidence using Microsoft Office tools\n\nDesirable:\n\nExposure to AS9100, aerospace or other regulated quality management systems\n\nExperience with FAIRs, NCRs, audits or process control\n\nKnowledge of metallurgy, materials, laser cutting or CAD systems\n\nGenuine interest in aerospace, space or high-integrity engineering sectors\n\nWhy join?\n\nSalary of £28k-£35k depending on experience\n\nClear development pathway within quality engineering\n\nHands-on exposure to aerospace-level standards and customers\n\nSupportive, technically focused team environment\n\nA role where quality, precision and improvement truly matter\n\nIf you've completed an HND or engineering apprenticeship and want to build a quality career in a challenging, aerospace-aligned environment, this role offers an excellent next step
