Rayment Recruitment are looking for a Junior Sous Chef to join a busy gastro pub/restaurant located in a popular village on the outskirts of Chelmsford. This popular gastro pub is currently using the best of British produce to create a fusion of great tastes and innovative culinary delights, whatever the occasion. The venue combines the romance and charm of an extraordinary heritage building, with all the comforts of contemporary living for the guests. This venue extends this philosophy to its food, offering a modern restaurant with a classic open fireplace and oak beam finish in the dining room. The Role: The right Junior Sous Chef should be motivated and creative, have a passion for fresh food, be hardworking and a team player. As Junior Sous Chef, you will be working alongside the Head and Sous Chef creating fresh, seasonal dishes for the a la carte restaurant. You will also train and mentor junior members of the brigade. You must have proven previous Junior Sous Chef or Sous Chef experience within a fresh food establishment and be able to take control of the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef. Skills Required: Real passion for high level cuisine and fantastic food presentation Able to work in a team and use your own initiative Innovative with concepts and ideas Knowledge of menu completion, stock control and rotas Availability for variety of shifts including splits, evenings and weekends Driving licence essential due to village location Minimum of 2 years of previous experience working at this level Level 2 Health and Hygiene Certificate NVQ in professional cookery / or equivalent, preferred If you would like to be considered for this fantastic opportunity, please send your CV through to Erika at Rayment Recruitment.
