The Silver Birch, named Best Restaurant in Londonat the 2024 AA Guide Awards, is on an exciting journey to achieve our first Michelin star. To reach this goal, we are building a world-class team and are looking for a passionate Junior Sous Chef to join our kitchen.
Led by Head Chef Nathan Cornwell, who has worked in some of Europes most prestigious Michelin-starred restaurantsincluding Geranium(3 Michelin Stars), Kadeau & Oaxen Krog(2 Michelin Stars), and Le Champignon SauvageThe Silver Birch is committed to delivering exceptional food using the best seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. What We Offer: Up to £48,000 inclusive of service charge
Guaranteed two days off per week (closed Sundays & Mondays)
Two weeks off every August (summer closure)
Closed for a few days over Christmas, first week of January off (winter closure)
Daily staff meals while on shift

Your Role as a Junior Sous Chef: Prepare and execute dishes to the highest standard, ensuring consistency and precision
Work closely with senior chefs to refine techniques and contribute to menu development
Maintain an organised and efficient mise en place for service
Uphold impeccable hygiene and food safety standards
Strive for continuous learning and improvement in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen
What Were Looking For: Experience as a Junio r Sous Chef or High quality Chef de Partie in a Michelin-starred restaurant
A deep understanding of classical and modern cooking techniques
High attention to detail and a passion for precise execution
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
Must have the right to work in the UK (we cannot provide sponsorship)
